Tula Pink Wonky Star Quilt

Tula Pink Wonky Star Quilt

My Tula Pink fabric obsession continues! This time following Kate of The Last Homely House’s Wonky Star Quilt tutorial. Talk about a fun, fast, and easy project! I’ll definitely be making more versions.

I made this one for my niece, Jules using Tula Pink fabric. The prints are ridiculously fun with friendly snakes, raccoons in trash cans, dandelion hedgehogs, and hot pink squirrels โ€”ย can you even?!

While working on the top, I couldn’t help thinking how much she might like it since she’s into nature, animals, and bright colors. So, at a recent family event, I showed her some photos and asked. The grin on her face said it all!

I quilted this on my Juki TL-2010q machine. I first used a walking foot to make diagonal straight lines. Then switched to free-motion quilting on the border, improvising some meandering swirls and loops.

There are sections where you can tell my brain couldn’t keep up with my hands or the machine in deciding which direction to move the fabric next. Eventually, I’d love to learn how to make fancier motifs like feathers. I need more practice, for sure! ๐Ÿ˜…
