If you've been quilting as much as I have, you know how expensive materials can get. That's why it's comforting to know not all quilts have to be BIG. So I started looking into smaller projects like wall hangings, table runners, placemats, and (my new favorite) mug rugs! When a mystery scrap bag of Ruby Star Society fabric from Amazon arrived in the mail, I was delighted to find it stuffed with adorable Halloween prints! I immediately felt inspired to make some spooky quilted mug rugs for a few crafty friends who were visiting, later in the week. The pattern...

FO: Liberty Fabric Night Vision Quilt

Making the scrappy Liberty fabric quilt of my dreams.

On a rainy day, I decided to sort my collection of Liberty fat quarters by color. As I did, I found myself gazing at an array of gorgeous grey-scale prints. Suddenly, I remembered some yardage of a cool-grey Liberty solid that I had bought a while back for a sewing project that never came to be. I love a good log cabin quilt and, dang it! Those tiny houses are so stinkin' cute.       For fabric, I went stash-diving and pulled out a...
Quilting: My New Obsession

Quilting: My New Obsession

How it’s come to this.

My very first quilt. It seems I've fallen hard down the quilting rabbit hole. This recent obsession has me reflecting on how I ended up here because it wasn't as simple as flicking on a light switch. No, my friends, it all began a few years ago with just a trickle, but it wasn't until a few months back that the floodgates burst open. And now, here I am, cranking out quilt after quilt. I came to quilting about five years ago. I watched Jaclyn Salem's YouTube Tutorial and thought it looked fun! The first quilt I ever made was...
